Private notes, on your computer.
No account, no analytics, no cloud you did not choose. Kolada keeps your notes as files on your PC and never sends them anywhere.
Nothing to sign up for
Kolada opens straight to a blank page. There is no account to make, no email to confirm and no trial to run out. It collects nothing: no analytics, no tracking and no ads.
Your notes never leave your PC
Every note is a plain Markdown file in a folder you choose. The search index and settings live on your computer too. If you want your notes on another device, sync the folder with the service you already trust.
Kolada goes online for two things only: to download the pictures in something you paste from a web page, and, in the version from this website, to check for updates once a day. The Microsoft Store version never checks; the Store updates it.
Writing help that stays on the machine
Where writing help is included, an on-device model fixes typos and grammar as you write. It runs offline, reads only the note that is open, and one Ctrl Z undoes any fix.
Questions
Is there a notes app that works without an account?
Yes. Kolada needs no account. It opens straight to a note and stores everything as files on your computer.
Does Kolada collect any data?
No. Kolada has no analytics, no telemetry and no tracking. The privacy policy at kolada.app/privacy explains the only two times it uses the network.
Does the AI in Kolada send my notes to the cloud?
No. Kolada’s writing help runs on your PC, reads only the open note and never connects to the internet.
